Renault’s best-selling car in Brazil has just been given a double-barreled name. The all-new Sandero R.S. is Renault Sport’s first car made outside Europe. The model keeps the same features that it model famous, such as the best-in-class interior room and trunk (320 liters) – with major changes in terms of powertrain, transmission, suspension and breaking systems, among others.

Designed and developed by Renault Sport, in conjunction with Latin American design and engineering teams, the Sandero R.S. is a legitimate sports car. With a maximum speed of 202 km, the hot hatch goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 secs, thanks to its 2-liter engine that delivers 150-hp running on ethanol.

In addition to its powertrain, the main differences compared to the basic Sandero are a six-speed transmission, electric power steering, new suspension settings, brake system with four discs, ESC, and three driving modes – standard, sport, and racing.
On the outside, the major changes pertain to the new front and rear bumpers, 195/65 16’’ wheels, side skirts, rear spoiler, twin exhaust tip, door mirrors not matching body color and the R.S. badge under the diamond logo on the front grille and on the trunk lid.

The cockpit-inspired interior features aluminum pedals, in addition to sport seats and steering wheel. The R.S. version includes exclusive dashboard color and styling, as well as red air vent surrounds and gloss black door handles.

The Sandero R.S. is a fully equipped car that includes as standard features, among other items, automatic air-conditioning system, Media NAV Evolution – an in-dash high-end multimedia central with 7’’ touch screen that goes far beyond GPS, Bluetooth and radio. In fact, the system offers a range of applications designed for in-car use such as social networks (Facebook, Twitter), and practical tools via Aha smartphone app that syncs via Bluetooth to offer, for example, TripAdvisor® hotel information, Yelp® restaurant listings, Custom Weather forecast, and worldwide radio stations.

The multimedia central also offers handy applications that make life easier, with real-time traffic information on the GPS, thanks to the TMC (Traffic Message Channel) technology. iPhone users may also take advantage of the SIRI app that uses a natural language user interface to perform actions like searching music and making phone calls, so that you may keep your hands on the wheel.

Motorsports Division
Established in 1976 from the merger of power sports divisions Alpine and Gordini, Renault Sport is the brand’s motorsports division channeled into racing and sports cars. It currently designs, develops, manufactures and sells a wide range of sports and racing cars. Three sports levels are available: the GT Line signature applies to aesthetic improvements; the GT version includes aesthetic enhancements and mechanical preparation, while the R.S. range offers the ultimate sports driving experience.

Renault Sport sells more than 37 thousand specially prepared cars worldwide and has already built more than 1,000 single-seater cars. The division also organizes motorsports championships, such as the World Series by Renault and Formula Renault, which form a fantastic springboard for future Formula One drivers. Some 60% of today’s Formula One drivers have a track background that includes Formula Renault events.
